Linux Workstation Software

EECS Linux workstations run the Fedora distribution. The systems are loaded with the latest version of Fedora available each Summer. Fedora community attempts to release a new version of the distribution every six months. In order to maintain a stable and consistent environment during the school year (Spring and Fall semesters), we only update the systems during the summer unless the new release has significant improvements over the previous version.

In addition to the above software, the Linux workstations are loaded with software to ensure a good general computing experience. This includes a myriad of e-mail clients, web browsers, audio/visual tools, office software and advanced programming libraries. Please feel free to put in a help ticket if you have suggestions on additional software which will improve the user experience with the EECS Linux workstations.
