Student Windows System Administrator

The EECS Department is currently advertising an opening for a student window system administrator position.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, configuring, imaging, and testing new hardware and software.
  • Supporting end users with hardware and software questions and problems.
  • Minor miscellaneous hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for student employment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and software.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • The ability to use the Internet as a research tool to solve problems.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.

Prefered Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work through the summer in addition to the academic year.
  • One or more years of experience supporting end users, desktop computers, and printers in a networked environment.
  • IP based networking experience (cabling, configuration, basic understanding of routing, etc.).
  • Experience with Norton Ghost.
  • Experience with Linux servers and desktops.
