Computer Science (CS) Objectives
Our program seeks to ensure that our graduates have the solid preparation
necessary for a successful career or entry into a graduate degree program.
To this end our objectives are to provide the student with:
- An understanding of the fundamental concepts in basic sciences and
mathematics and how these concepts can be applied to the solution of science
and engineering problems,
- Meaningful studies in the humanities and social sciences, including an
appreciation of ethical issues in the use of technology,
- A solid foundation in oral and written communications,
- Experience with the design, maintenance and implementation of software
systems,
- An understanding of computer hardware and software architectures and
the ability to design software systems that run efficiently on conventional
computing systems.
